Karetai Challenge 2006 report for Leith Athletes
Neale McLanachan made the race his when he took control on the long downhill stretch on Highcliff Road. He finished ahead of favourite Stafford Thompson to be first of the 120 strong field. His time of 59 min 38 sec broke the 60 minute barrier which has only been done a few times.
Glen Ferguson making a welcome return to competitive running won the Masters Men 40+ grade in 1 hour 3 minutes 46 seconds while Dave McLean finished second in the Masters Men 50+ grade in I hour 11 minutes 37 seconds.
