Relays (Saturday 9th August 2008). Leith teams filled the
first three places: 1st Leith Men 2, 2nd Leith Men 1, 3rd
Leith Women.

Lonie won the MM35 race, Sue Cuthbert won the MW35race, Jan

Neale McLanachan won
the Edmond Cup Steeplechase on Saturday 1 September. Kirsty
Morris won the Senior Women's race and Jan Craig took the
Master's Women's 45+ title to round off another successful
day for Leith Athletes.

took place on Sat 11 August. Leith had four teams
entered, two of which unfortunately were disqualified. However,
the Leith SM team finished fourth (despite disqualifcation)
and the Leith Masters, Leith Greybeards and Leith Women's

Union Cross Country Champs
Bill Kenny (Leith)
finished second in the USA M70 2000m Meter Steeplechase Championships
with an excellent time of 9 mins 36.35 seconds. Great going
Bill. He has also now finished second in the M70 800m USA
Championships with a time of 2:55.50 and third in the M70
1500m Championships with a time of 6:12.82.
Bill Kenny (Leith)
was crowned the Scottish Athletics Masters M70 1,500m champion
on the weekend of the 14/15th July 2007. The 1,500m
was run on the Saturday and Bill finished in a time of 6.13.45
in managing to outlast fellow M70 competitor Thomas O'Reilly
who finished in a time of 6.19.14. Sunday saw Bill competing
in the 800m. This time around Thomas O'Reilly turned the tables
finishing in a time of 2.55.0. Bill settled for second just
3 seconds behind in 2.58.0. The championships were held in
Grangemouth Stadium in Edinburgh.

braved the bitterly cold North-Easterly wind to also win the
Hughes Memorial Open 10km Handicap Race on Saturday 7 July

I would like to congratulate all Leith runners that competed
at the New Zealand Cross country Champs at Wingatui this past
weekend.
Special congratulations must go to the medal winners:
* Glen Ferguson MM 40-44 Bronze
* Ray Knox MM 45-49 Bronze
* Peter Morris MM 55-59 Bronze
* Graham Anderson MM 60-64 Silver * Kirsty Morris part of
the Senior womans team that got Bronze.

35 - 49 team that got Bronze
* Peter Morris a member of the MM50+ team that got Bronze

As you can see Leith members played a major roll in the success
of Otago at this championships.

The 365m grass track was slippery and muddy in parts which
