The opening Track and Field Meeting took place this Saturday 11 October at the Caledonian starting at 1pm. Beijing Olympics 1500m Bronze medalist, Nick Willis, was in attendence.

There was a magnificent turnout of athletes and spectators for this the opening track and field meeting of the 2008/9 season. Nick Willis signed personalised autographs on posters for each person. He also gave the opportunity for the kids (and even some parents) to jog a lap of the Caledonian track.

There was some keen competition amongst the athletes with some good times, despite the strong south westerly wind for the first meet of the season.

Track and Field Duties

During the Track and Field season Leith will be called upon to provide certain duties. Leith will be providing helpers for the Long jump and Triple jump. The more helpers there are, then the less work each person will have to do.

The club will also be the duty club on occasion and this is where we need everyone to come forward and offer their assistance. There will be notices posted on this site giving details of what those duties are. To make these T & F meetings work and to help those who freely give of their time to organise and help on these meetings, this assistance is essential.
