Leith Port Report

BOYS AND GIRLS 12 & UNDER

Scratch race.                             START 1 pm

One lap of course (Union St, Forth St, Dundas St, Butts Rd) clockwise  (approx 2.4 km)

Separate results for boys and girls each grade.  First 3 for separate teams races.

The U12 children's race had a large field of 16 runners. This has been consistent with all the U12 races this season. Its good to see and its good for the sport.
Leith had 2 runners competing, Liam McCall and Paige Aitcheson. Both ran strongly over the 2.5k distance. Liam was placed 5th in the boys and 7 overall. His time was 10.31. Paige placed 4th girl and 9 overall in a time of 11.06. Both runners were not far off a podium spot. Well done to them both.

BOYS AND GIRLS 14 &UNDER

Handicap race                              START 1.15 pm

Two laps of course (Union St, Forth St, Dundas St, Butts Rd) clockwise  (approx 4.8 km)

Separate results for men and women.  First 3 for separate teams races.

Talia Allison ran very well to finish second in this race in a time of 24 minutes 25 seconds for the 4.8 km circuit.

 

PORT CHALMERS TO DUNEDIN RACE

Handicap                     START 2.15 pm

Open to all registered runners who are 18 years or over on race day..   Separate results for men and women but races are held concurrently.

First three in each club count for separate men’s and women’s teams races.

The Frank Perry memorial trophy is awarded to the winning team based on 6 people, men or women to count.

Peter Nees ran exceptionally well to finish fourth overall and the second man home in a time of 59 mins 12 seconds. Nees also won the Civil Service trophy for the first Master Man 50 to finish.

Meredith Molloy was third overall and the second woman home in 50 minutes 44 seconds.

KIrsty Morris was second fastest woman in 48 minutes 1 second. The team of Molloy, Morris and Claire Kinraid won the women's teams race (3 to count).

By all accounts a good performance from the Leith contingent.
