The 2006 Otago Cross Country Championship races were held on Saturday 15 July 2006 at Waikouaiti Race with the first race commencing at 12 noon.
Results also include the Leith XC Championships positions.

Sarah Thomas had a good run in winning the Girls 14 and Under race.

MASTERS WOMEN 35+
Tracey Bransgrove ran well to finish in an excellent second position in 25 mins and 12 seconds to lead the Leith team of Bransgrove, Jan Coffey and Cindy Bradburn to victory in the teams event with 13 points.

MASTERS MEN 35+
Glen Ferguson ran exceptionally well to win this highly competitive race in a fast time of 28 minutes 19 seconds. Alan Funnell continued to impress in this race with a fifth place in 28 minutes 52 seconds to attain a place in the Athletics Otago Masters Team for the National Cross Country Championships in Stratford, Taranaki.
The Leith team of Ferguson, Funnell and Ian Thomas won the 3 person team event with 12 points.

The Leith team of Marc Boulle, Ed Stevens and Graham Anderson won the teams event with 15 points, just one point ahead of Ariki.

SENIOR MEN
Returning from a bout of flu took some of the edge off Neale McLanachan's fitness but he produced a solid gutsy run to finish in third place in 41 minutes 22 seconds. Andrew Lonie backed up with a good 8th position in 43 minutes 39 seconds. Neale McLanachan also won the Leith sealed handicap set by Master Handicapper Jim Flynn. Jim had Neale set to do a time of 42 minutes while he had Andrew set to do a time of 43 minutes 11 seconds.
