Leith Report

Leith athletes once again showed how strong the club's depth is in Mountain Running over various age grades by winning three of the titles on offer in the King of the Mountain Race held at Whare Flat on Sunday 2 April 2006..

Brian Pascoe overcame the blustery conditions to win the Masters Men's 40 section in 1 hour 1 minutes 26 seconds. Steve Smith did the same in winning the Master Men's 50 section in 1 hour 5 minutes 38 seconds. Jan Craig came home first in the Masters Women 45 section in 1 hour 10 minutes 7 seconds.

Neale McLanachan came close to winning his second race in as many weeks as he finished second behind Xaviour Walker of Ariki in 56 minutes 57 seconds while Andrew Lonie running back into form came third in 58 minutes 49 seconds.

Ray Knox finished second in the Masters Mens 40 grade in 1 hour 3 minutes 52 seconds. Dave McLean finished second in the Masters Men 50 grade in 1 hour 6 minutes 43 seconds.
