Joe Cowie Memorial Three Mile Open Grade Course (2 laps of 1.5 miles each)

Course Instructions for 3 miler:

Note: There have been changes to the original map of the new course around Chingford Park. However, the major part of the 2 lap course will stay the same. The start will be on the grass between the club rooms and the northern perimeter of the fields. The runners will turn sharp left at the main driveway and head towards the main entrance, they will then turn left up the North Road footpath towards Tannadice Street. At Tannadice Street the runners will turn left and then turn sharp left again towards the soccer fields. As they enter the soccer fields the runners will turn sharp right to follow the northern perimeter of the fields to run past the clubrooms again following the main part of the 2km course and then doing 2 laps of the 2km as described below:

Running past the clubrooms for the second time, the runners will turn right at the gravel main drive to cross the small bridge and then turn right again to run anti-clockwise around the gravel road.

The runners will almost totally circumvent the gravel circular road, but before getting back to the bridge, will again turn right to run alongside the river towards Afton Terrace, following the cones and the standards. Once the runners reach Afton Terrace, they will keep to the left and run along the concrete footpath and then turn left at Beechworth Street.

Still keeping to the left and on the footpath, the runners will approach the bridge where they will be required to run on the road for about 30 metres. Here they are required to stay to the left of the two cones at the bridge. Once past the bridge, the runners are required to return to the footpath and when reaching Ainslee Place, will turn left into Ainslee Place, still keeping to the footpath and running on the left side of Ainslee Place, until reaching the end of Ainslee Place, and keeping on the footpath make a U turn back down the other side of Ainslee Place, keeping to their left and on the footpath.

When reaching Beechworth Street again, the runners will turn sharp left and keeping on the left footpath, head towards North Road. Once they reach North Road, they are required to turn sharp left to head up North Road towards Norwood Street and Tannadice Road. Staying on the footpath on the left side of North Road and Norwood Road, the runners will turn left down Tannadice Road, and then sharp left again to head towards the north entrance to the Chingford Park soccer fields. On entering the fields the runners are required to turn sharp right to continue on part of the soccer fields circuit running through the start (without doing another loop of the fields) and past the clubrooms for the third time to turn right at the main driveway to the bridge and do another lap of the course.

When the runners come back onto the fields at the end of the second lap, they will follow the same route, turning sharp right to finish outside the clubrooms.

Joe Cowie Memorial 2km Junior Course (1 lap)

Instructions for 2km Junior Course:

The instructions are the same as for the 3 miler, but the runners do not do an initial circuit of the soccer fields, but head directly out to the main driveway to turn right to cross the bridge. They only do one lap of the course which is the same as the one lap of the 3 miler (2km loop)..
